Great, dog-friendly patio in the summer, amazing food. We were very excited to see them open this winter! Had the wings today and they were to die for.

Had lots of craft brews and fun cocktails with delicious burgers. Cheese curds were fresh and blueberry burger had great savory balance. Rockwood burger was a heavy hitter and delicious. Chips were yummy, fries could have been crispier but tasted hand cut. Very modern menu with laid back atmosphere.

Probably the tastiest sandwich and flight of beers I've ever had after spending nine days in the Boundary Waters wilderness.

Its alright. Just deep fried food for eats but atmosphere is great.

Excellent place and food, great waitstaff. Only complaint was the amount of time it took to get our food. I'm chalking it up to a fluke - I'd definitely try again.

Blueberry burger was dry. Needs a different bun. It would be a nice place to eat in the summer. I ate on the patio. It was a little chilly in September.

This is a nice friendly place that is only open in the summer. The food is excellent, especially the Cajun sausage and wild rice soup. The service is good but with a lot of people sitting outside, the servers can be spread out.

Freezing cold inside which goes about the same for the temperature of the food. Very forgetful wait staff. Mediocre food all around. "Hot" soup the same temp as the cold salad.

Food was very good. Happy hour is awesome. Was happy to see it open in the winter for once. Had the wild rice meatloaf and mashed potatoes on bread with gravy. It was a perfect winter days' food.

I recently traveled to Ely, MN for work with a coworker and spent three days in this cute little town. Looking for a good place to eat. Found the Rockwood on the first day around 4:00 pm. The happy hour is incredible and the ambience is warm and welcoming. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit on the patio. The service was good and the food was delicious. On the second day, we decided to bypass looking or another restaurant and just returned to Rockwood. Tried more apps and entrees. All were great!

Food I received was pretty good, but was disappointed in the service. Our server was not very familiar with the menu and had to come back several times as he was also the server for a large group and their food was ready (wait to order food was long). Was also slightly disappointed to find that my food came without seasonal veggies as described on the menu.

Great burgers. Had the Northland and it was great! The homemade chips were nice and crispy. We had onion rings, walleye rangoon, and cheese curds. The rings were very good, rangoon was ok, and the curds were so so. We had great table service. Nice atmosphere and the decor is pretty cool. Great place, would definitely eat here again!

Bar service was friendly and timely despite being absolutely slammed. Good regional beer selection on tap, and includes three local rotating and a cask. Menu is upgraded tavern style: apps, burgers, and entrees but with a range from simple and classic to stepped up options.

5 stars or should I say 5 amazing stars. Yes it really is that good. I will have a pic of my recipe so you can see what we had. One thing please come around and ask if anyone would need something to drink more often. With that being said WOW is all I can say. We will be eating here again guaranteed.

EDIT:Everything (food, drinks, the poor wait staff who seem to be trying hard) seems to be cluttered and deeply, deeply disorganized. Our Ely Mules were really, really watery (and I’m 23 and will drink anything but...pure water y’all) so I just went to the bar and asked her for something different, and luckily she just added more ginger beer and vodka to it (and was nice about it!), but was SO rushed and there were wait staff also yelling at her??? What’s going on???? No one seems to know???? Weird and confusing.

Had an AMAZING flat iron steak dinner with garlic mash and asparagus! Love the food and atmosphere here. They also have the best sweet potato fries in town (with their amazing dip)!

Super quiet at 5pm on a Tuesday.Creamy wild rice soup was very good, as was the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun.My buddy enjoyed his fruity salad as well.

Great food, fun atmosphere!

Seriously the worst service ever. No one even acknowledged us for the first ten minutes we were there. Finally, someone put our name down on a list and said it’d be about 10 minutes even though there were empty seats everywhere. We were seated and ordered drinks (which took forever) and we put in our order right away. Fast forward to almost an hour later and everyone around but us has their food. My mother went to ask our waitress what was going on and she claimed our ordered was pushed to the back and said it would just be easier to cancel. We said we still wanted to eat, the food was okay at best. Our drinks were comped, but as I was feeding my daughter, someone came and told us we needed to sign our tickets because our waitress needed to leave. Will never go back.

Burger was ok, bun was a bit tough so hard to hold the burger together to eat it. Fries were good but soft if you prefer them with a crunch. I liked them the way they were. Service was good, they let me pick where I wanted to sit

I loved the grapefruit margarita. The porketta sandwich not so much, but Wild rice soup delicious and full of chicken and yummy Turkey, avocado sandwich.

Great place. We stopped for dinner before heading into BWCA. I had the Old Standby burger and a couple others had different ones. All said they were cooked as requested and all agreed they were delicious. Fries are yummy too and with the seasoned sour cream. Forgot to take a pic of the burger which was great size but here is a beer which they have a good selection of both MN beers and elsewhere.

The food was good, but it was VERY slow. Took over an hour after to get our good after ordering. Heard a couple other tables complaining about how slow they were.

Service was great and the food was great! A little pricey but good atmosphere!

The service was less than professional and the food so-so. we ordered a salad, wings and fries, the fries came first and the wings were chewy.

Good food, I had the walleye plate very tasty (great tartar sauce) hubby had the steak and walleye plate (the steak was 4.2 stars according to my husband and was cooked exactly how he asked) awesome outdoor eating area with a cool looking water feature. Watch out for the mosquitoes if u sit outside lol

Music was fun, waitress was great. My wild rice soup was delicious and amazing. Walleye street tacos? Not so much. Dry and cracking tortilla with chewy fish. Husband got the walleye basket and liked it a lot, great cole slaw.

Went last night for the first time and ordered the crispy chicken pretzel sandwhich with onion rings. My goodness, SO delicious! Can't wait to come again and try something new!

Fast and delicious. After getting turned away by Ely Steakhouse at 4:45 pm because their tables were all reserved for the entire night, we were very pleasantly surprised by Rockwood.
